In association with Gruppo Torinese Trasporti (GTT), Mack Brooks Exhibitions offers INTERtunnel visitors the opportunity to view significant rail facilities in the Turin area.

Visit to the Automated Turin Metro
Duration: 2 and ½ hours

The Turin metro is fully automated. There is no driver on board, and the trains are controlled by computer guidance systems from the Technical Centre set up in Collegno. The visit includes a guided tour of the Metro from Porta Nuova to Fermi, with a visit to the Technical Centre.

Visit to Sassi Station on the Sassi-Superga rack railway
Intertunnel 2008Duration: 2 hours

This historic rack railway is the only one of its kind in Italy. It was first constructed as a funicular railway and was later converted to a rack railway running on a central rail. The visit includes a tour of the workshop where vehicle maintenance is carried out, a tour of Sassi station which is now the home of a small historical museum of Turin transport, and a trip on the railway.
